ADHD & Neurodivergent Support
A trauma-informed approach for adults navigating ADHD, neurodivergence, and the emotional impact of long-standing overwhelm or misattunement.
Overview
Many neurodivergent adults reach therapy after years of feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or chronically “behind,” despite significant effort and capability. For some, ADHD or neurodivergence has only been identified later in life; for others, it has been long recognised but insufficiently supported.
This work recognises that ADHD and neurodivergence are not deficits to be fixed, but nervous systems that have often adapted under pressure. Therapy focuses on supporting regulation, emotional safety, and self-understanding, particularly where stress, burnout, or trauma responses have developed over time.
Who This Supports
This approach may be helpful if you:
- Identify as neurodivergent or have ADHD (diagnosed or self-identified)
- Experience chronic overwhelm, emotional fatigue, or burnout
- Struggle with organisation, follow-through, or sustained focus despite effort
- Feel sensitive to stress, criticism, or perceived failure
- Carry shame, self-blame, or a sense of “not being enough”
- Have developed anxiety, shutdown, or perfectionistic coping pattern
- Have found standard therapy approaches difficult to sustain or apply
Many neurodivergent adults seek therapy after years of compensating, masking, or over-functioning to meet external expectations.
